Micah Lane Kaufhold Sr.
“a builder—in more ways than one”
With a professional background in custom home design, residential construction, and real-world problem solving, Micah has spent decades turning raw ideas into structures that last. As the founder of Kaufhold Design Build, he’s helped families across Alabama create homes that reflect who they are and how they live.
But GraceNote was never meant to be made of wood and nails.
It was born out of something deeper: a longing for connection, healing, and clarity during life’s most difficult moments. Micah didn’t set out to build an app—he set out to build what he wished had existed during the hardest chapters of his own story. GraceNote is the platform he wishes he and his ex-wife had access to when their relationship began to break down—something emotionally intelligent, spiritually grounded, and designed to help people stay connected even when things fall apart.
A father of four, Micah’s greatest joy is his children—each with their own gifts, humor, and hearts. Music has always been a thread in their family, with his ex-wife, a lifelong music educator and left-handed conductor, with their children carrying that same rhythm in their blood. The name GraceNote pays tribute to them: to their music, their future, and to the small, often overlooked moments that bring beauty into even the hardest songs.
Micah’s approach to life—and to this project—is grounded in faith, family, creativity, and humor. He believes deeply in second chances, thoughtful design, and making space for both laughter and pain. GraceNote is his way of taking the tools he’s developed in construction and parenting and building something new: a digital space where relationships are honored, voices are heard, and healing is possible.
This isn’t just about technology. It’s about legacy.
